Here are some (unusual) choices I've made as my fave songs. Truth is these are just a few different from the norm for one reason or another!
SEND YOUR LOVE - Renee and Renato
This version, sung live at the Channel 7 Perth Telethon featured Jackie Trent in partnership with Renato, Renee having long departed. I had the good fortune to meet Renato during his Perth visit to Romano's, the same also (at a later date) with Jackie and Tony Hatch.
ME AND MY FRIEND - Simon Gallaher and Jackie Love.
This song was originally written and recorded by Neil Sedaka. This version in Australia, sung live again at the Telethon by the blue-eyed, blonde haired boy from Queensland and the leggy blonde from Perth is a good alternate version. Simon was a regular visitor to Perth (Romano's again) and was a competant pianist and performer in the style of Peter Allen
ETERNALLY - TONY PANTANO.
Composed by Charles (Charlie) Chaplin as 'Terry's Theme, or 'Theme From Limelight'. This is an uptempo vocal by an Italian-Australian, who I have met many times during his national tours. He is equally at home with contempory music and classics
THE WOMBLES OF WIMBLEDON COMMON - Bernard Cribbins
....Say no more!
RIGHT SAID FRED - Bernard Cribbins
